Assistance with Daily Life
This is a Core Support category that allows you to access the assistance of a support worker to help you with your day-to-day activities like personal care, household chores, cooking, cleaning and yard maintenance. The primary goal of this support is to help the participant become as independent as possible in managing their daily life.
Consumables
Consumables are essential items required for handling the everyday disability needs of an individual. Under this category, participants can access continence aids or low-cost assistive technology and equipment which improves their functional capacity and makes
them more independent.
Assistance with Social and Community Participation
Participants can partake in various social and community activities with assistance provided by an NDIS-funded support worker. They will help the participants to make appointments and provide assistance with travelling. The support workers will cater to any of the disability-related needs of the participants to encourage more community participation.
Transport
A participant’s disability can have a direct impact on their daily life and restrict them from accessing public transport such as buses or trains. In such cases, if it is found to be ‘reasonable and necessary’, the NDIS may cover the cost of taxi services or any other
specialised transportation service for the participants to go to their job, school or community activities.
