Philodendron Birkin.A white monstera is one of several varieties of tropical flowering plants, or even small trees, in the genus Monsteram. The word Monsteram is derived from its scientific name Monstermatt, which was created by Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus in 1753. This particular type of tree bears leaves that are larger than 15 inches long and 6 inches wide that usually have some type of patterns on them. It also has large flowers that are colored white with purple spots on them. It’s not uncommon for these types of plants to be referred to as Philodendrons because they belong to the same family as Philodendrons.
The difference between Philodendrons and Monsteras is simply their size; while Philodendrons grow smaller than 8 feet tall, Monsteras can grow up to 30 feet tall! They both come from subtropical climates, so they don’t do well in cold weather. They prefer temperatures around 75 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 60 degrees at night. If you want to own a Monsteram, you need to keep it indoors year-round unless you live somewhere warm enough for it to stay outside all year round. You should never put it outdoors when there is frost or snow on the ground because it will die if exposed to temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 24 hours.
